Job function
Operation Management
-Support plants from various location to develop and improve rubber formulation to ensure products meeting specification and customer\xe2\x80\x99s requirement.
-Support plants from various location in problem solving and process trouble shooting, investigate and identify the root cause.
-Work closely with Purchasing in raw material sourcing for cost saving, process and quality improvement.
-Establish lab procedures, creates and manages lab-related documentation to support company quality, environment, safety, as well as RBA system.
-Identify need of testing facility/equipment, determine the required specification, do sourcing and participate in CAPEX Planning
-Assist and support Manager in responding to Sales enquiry, responding or following up with Purchasing on raw material status, responding or following up with Engineering on project status, upon request or on her/his absent.
-Guide, train and enhance material and technical knowledge of Chemists and Technical Team from various locations in meeting their performance.
-Prepare performance reports for presentation to upper management.
-Be prepared and available to travel any time for adhoc issues at other plants within the organisation.
-Financial & Cost Management
-Introduce and evaluate alternative or lower cost rubber formulation for cost saving purpose.
-Design rubber formulation which increase productivity and reduce wastage
-Resource Management
-Ensure proper identification, effective utilization and adequate maintenance of lab equipment.
-Provide leadership support, supervise, prioritise, monitor Chemists of various locations constantly to achieve high productivity, rubber product quality requirement and awareness on rubber product cleanliness requirement for medical, electronic etc.
-Organize and implement training programs for Chemist and technical team in the entire region.
-Risk & Succession Management
-Identify, analyse, develop and propose the appropriate measures and strategy to improve efficiency of various plants.
Experience
-Degree in Polymer Engineering or equivalent.
-Strong knowledge in rubber formulation and possess hands on experience in operating laboratory roll mill, rubber material mechanical testing and interpret test result.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with multiple levels within the organization.
-Must be flexible, a strong team player, excellent attention to detail and have a hands-on approach.
-Ability to prioritize, organize work load and manage time successfully
-Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict
-Creativity & innovative.
-Analytical skills \xe2\x80\x93 identify opportunities & leverage synergies.
-Strong decision making and problem-solving skills, especially in situations of high stress
