Role Description
Valser Group is seeking a
Technical Service Engineer (Lead)
to join our FCS Service Unit in Pengerang. The successful candidate will lead technical service projects for manual and actuated valves, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery. This role requires a strong communicator who can engage directly with clients, propose solutions, and drive service excellence through effective project management and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Management
Lead and execute service projects for manual and actuated valves across regions.
Develop project plans, schedules, and cost strategies aligned with contract requirements.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, within scope, time, and budget.
Identify and raise variation orders and ensure timely invoicing.
Prepare Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Work Schedule, and Job Method Statement (JMS).
Coordinate logistics for manpower mobilization.
2. Manpower Movement & Scheduling
Review service requests, confirm requirements, and coordinate supplier timelines.
Plan manpower allocation, site visits, and work schedules.
Monitor service progress, address scheduling delays, and ensure customer documentation is completed and signed off.
3. Resource Allocation & Procurement
Initiate purchase requests and coordinate with SCM for supplier POs.
Review cost projections, resolve payment issues, and ensure cost efficiency.
Support finance with invoice and payment follow-ups.
4. Procedure, Inspection, Testing & Shipping
Prepare and submit Procedure and Inspection Test Plan (ITP).
Coordinate and attend customer and third-party inspections.
Oversee expediting plans, delivery arrangements, and shipping coordination.
5. Execution & Workforce Management
Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy.
Coordinate freelance wage processing and logistics arrangements.
Ensure cost tracking and reporting are aligned with project budgets.
6. Customer Satisfaction
Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
Respond to client inquiries promptly and provide updates within agreed timelines.
Resolve disputes professionally and ensure customer satisfaction.
7. Risk Management
Identify potential risks and implement preventive measures.
Ensure compliance with HSE and company risk management standards.
Report safety incidents and participate in regular risk assessments.
8. Team Leadership & Collaboration
Coordinate with technicians and supervisors to ensure efficient service execution.
Identify training needs and mentor team members for continuous skill improvement.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and coordination with HR, Finance, and SCM.
9. Reporting & Documentation
Submit weekly progress reports, inspection results, and financial projections.
Maintain complete project documentation and upload to the VALSER NAS Server.
Support closure reports, lessons learned, and final payment processes.
10. HSE Compliance
Adhere to HSE procedures and ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 standards.
Actively participate in safety and compliance training.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in
Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
(or equivalent).
4-5 years
of experience in valves and actuators service, inspection, and maintenance.
Proven leadership and project coordination experience.
Strong interpersonal and client communication skills.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in planning, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Possess a valid
D License
and willing to travel for site work.
