SUMMARY

• The Maintenance Worker plays a vital role in the upkeep and repair of equipment, machinery, and facilities within a chemical plant.
• This position involves performing maintenance tasks, conducting inspections, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of plant assets.
• The Maintenance Worker collaborates with the production team, follows safety protocols, and contributes to the overall efficiency and reliability of plant operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubrication, filter changes, cleaning, and inspection of equipment and machinery.
• Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions, identifying the root causes, and performing necessary repairs or adjustments.
• Follow maintenance procedures and guidelines to ensure safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute preventive maintenance activities

2. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving:

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns or failures and assist in troubleshooting issues to identify and resolve problems.
• Work closely with supervisors or senior technicians to gather information, analyze symptoms, and determine appropriate solutions.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to conduct repairs and replacements as needed.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, work performed, and parts used.

3. Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations at all times, ensuring personal safety and the safety of others in the vicinity.
• Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines.
• Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to the appropriate personnel.
• Participate in safety training programs and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment.

4. Preventive Maintenance Support:

• Assist in conducting routine inspections and checks of equipment and facilities to identify potential issues or maintenance requirements.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team to implement preventive maintenance tasks and schedules.
• Help maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.

5. Communication and Teamwork:

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other plant personnel to report maintenance status, updates, and concerns.
• Collaborate with colleagues and provide support during maintenance projects or tasks that require teamwork.
• Participate in team meetings, contribute ideas for process improvement, and support a culture of continuous improvement.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Minimum 3 years experiences in maintenance or a related field, preferably in an industrial or chemical plant environment.
• Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation systems.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow safety guidelines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good communication skills to interact with team members and report maintenance activities.
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces.
• Willingness to work in shifts and overtime as required.
