Veterinary Assistant / Clinic Staff (Moving to 5-Day Work Week!)

small animals, birds, and exotic pets

Key Responsibilities

As a crucial member of our clinic, your role will cover three main areas:

1. Clinical & Technical Support

Assist veterinarians directly during consultations, treatments, and surgical procedures, handling a diverse range of species including

birds, cats, dogs, and exotic pets.

Prepare medications, instruments, and animals for surgery. Handle various species of animals safely and competently, utilizing

proper animal restraint techniques

(training provided). Maintain the highest standards of clinic cleanliness, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.

2. Animal Husbandry

Provide attentive, high-quality care for all warded and hospitalized animals. Ensure cages are clean and animals have appropriate food and water. Administer prescribed treatments and dispense medications accurately. Conduct physical stock inventory and update data regularly.

Requirements & Qualifications

Basic Requirements (Minimum)

Diploma qualification

. Lower qualification accepted with experiences. Able to follow instructions precisely and work effectively in a

fast-paced environment

.

No fear of animals

and

no animal or dust allergies

. High level of

Empathy (EQ)

, emotional control, and a positive, professional demeanor. Able to work on

weekends and public holidays

as needed.

Must be physically fit and able to lift and carry weights up to 20kg (e.g., large animal bags/feed).

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Animal Health, Animal Science, or a related field. Excellent

communication skills

(both written and spoken in English and Malay) and strong teamwork abilities. Prior experience with proper animal restraining skills.
