Appointment of Vice-Chancellor and President This is an opportunity to lead Malaysia\'s and Southeast Asia\'s top private university. Taylor\'s University is a young dynamic university with a long-standing reputation for the quality of its students\' experience. The University has in recent years increased investment in the performance of its research to achieve a more balanced academic mission and to ensure that students benefit from a curriculum and teaching which is research informed and to strengthen the University\'s international standing. Taylor\'s University is on a rising trajectory. The University has recently broken into the top 300 of the QS world university rankings having made the top 100 in the QS Asian university rankings in 2020. In the QS subject rankings the subject of hospitality management and tourism is ranked in the top 20 in the world and Taylor\'s Business School is in the top 100. The University is located at the Lakeside Campus close to Kuala Lumpur on a 27 acre site surrounding a 5 acre lake. The Campus which is a striking group of modernist buildings opened in 2010. The University has its origins in the establishment of Taylor\'s College in 1969. The current College, which is also based at the Lakeside Campus, continues to offer pre-university, sub-degree and professional courses. The College is managed as part of the University. Taylor\'s University is owned by the Taylor\'s Education Group, which also owns a university in Hanoi, Vietnam and a number of K-12 schools in Malaysia and Singapore. The current Vice-Chancellor and President is moving into a new role aimed at expanding the scale and scope of the Taylor\'s Higher Education Division operations across Southeast Asia. A global search has begun to identify his successor as Vice-Chancellor and President of Taylor\'s University. More information about the University is available on its website : https://university.taylors.edu.my Role and Responsibilities Taylor\'s University is led by the Vice-Chancellor and President. The post holder must have the leadership qualities to develop a shared vision and ethos for the future of the University. They must also have the experience and capability to devise a compelling plan to achieve the vision and be able to build a high performing team to deliver the plan. The Vice-Chancellor & President is accountable to the University Council for the overall performance of the University. They will be expected gain the Council\'s approval and support for the general direction of the University, for detailed strategic plans and for the policies by which the University will be governed. The Vice-Chancellor and President is also responsible for the reputation of the University as a well run organization that complies fully with local laws and regulations and offers a quality working and studying environment. They will also be expected to sustain the high and rising academic performance and standing for the University as well as its strong financial performance. The Vice-Chancellor and President will be in the line management of the President of Taylor\'s Higher Education Division, who is appointed by the Taylors Education Group to develop the wider higher education enterprise. They will be expected to contribute to the development of the wider Division as a member of the Division Leadership Team. The Person The next Vice-Chancellor and President of Taylor\'s University will be and inspiring individual with a track record of success and outstanding leadership and management in the higher education sector at the highest levels.
