Develop and manage WQT procedures. Create and maintain the procedures for conducting WQTs, ensuring they adhere to relevant codes and standards.
Oversees WQT testing, supervise the testing of welders, ensuring the process is carried out correctly and that the results are accurately recorded.
Evaluate and interpret test results, performing visual inspections and mechanical or destructive testing to verify the quality of welds.
Ensure compliance. Make sure that all WQT procedures and results comply with industry regulations and standards.
Documenting the results of the qualification tests and issuing WQT certificates to welders who pass the tests.
Maintaining records of welder qualifications and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
To supervise team of welders, review welding procedures, processes and documentation.
To manage welding procedure qualifications and generating welding procedures to help the manufacturing process and welding team members.
To review project specifications, codes and standards to develop welding procedures to guide the production and the welding team that relates to specification restrictions, material processes, pre-heating and post-heating requirements which involves the usage of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, critical welding joints and complex post-heating requirements.
To develop and maintain corporate welding procedures (WPS) and welder performance qualification records (WPQRs)
To develop, qualify, write and certify PQR(s) and WPS (s) for client review and approval.
To coordinate welding procedure requirements with the metallurgical testing laboratories.
Provide technical support as related to industry standards, specifications and codes such as ASME, AWS, and API
To conduct failure analyses and cause analyses on welding issues.
Follow the Company's environmental policy and procedures and comply with any environmental related legal or regulatory requirements.
Job Requirements
Diploma/Advance Diploma/Degree in Engineering Technology (Welding and Quality Inspection)
Required weld certification to CSWIP or AWS-CWI
Must have a strong foundation or familiarity with Welding Procedures / Terminology.
Minimum 2 years welding experience in GMAW & GTAW Solid leadership skills, strong organizational and administrative skills.
Proficient in Computer especially with MS Office & Solidworks skills.
