Company & Job Overview:

A rapidly growing manufacturing industry company in Penang mainland is seeking Assistant Costing Manager to join our Costing team. This critical role is responsible for maintaining and analyzing all cost accounting data, ensuring the accuracy of inventory valuation and providing key financial insights to support operational decision making. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Actual Costing methodologies and extensive hands-on experience utilizing SAP.

Job Responsibilities:

Cost accounting management

Lead, mentor, and develop the costing team to ensure high performance and compliance with corporate requirements. Manage and execute the Company's actual costing process, including the calculation and analysis of material costs and finished goods inventory. Perform month-end closing activities related to costing including WIP settlement, variance analysis and final cost runs. Maintain standard cost, performing annual/ quarterly cost rolls and comparing actual costs to standard costs to identify key drivers of variances.

Inventory & Valuation

Ensure the accurate valuation of raw materials, WIP and finished goods inventory. Analyze and track inventory movements, obsolescence and reserves. Conduct and oversee the physical inventory count process and reconcile any discrepancies with the SAP system records.

SAP and system expertise

Work closely with accounts team and IT to optimize costing processes within SAP and support new system implementations or upgrades. o Work closely with SAP team to develop and maintain custom SAP reports to analyze cost of goods sold and cost variances.

Financial analysis and reporting

Provide in-dept cost analysis and reporting to Accounts Department Head, including profitability by product, customer, etc. Prepare and complete internal and external cost audits. Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing detailed cost inputs and assumptions. Partner with operations and supply chain teams to identify and track cost saving opportunities and process efficiencies. Perform any other duties or special assignments as required by senior management.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.

Experience

Minimum 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in costing and manufacturing cost accounting, preferably within manufacturing environment. Proven in-depth knowledge with SAP Co module, product costing and actual costing. Strong understanding of accounting principles, costing reporting and regulatory compliance.

Skills

Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, proactive and willingness to take ownership of tasks. Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines in a fastpaced environment. Knowledge of SAP S/4 Hana is an added advantage. Mandarin speaker is preferred to support job-related communication needs.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM9,500.00 per month
