Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and passionate Assistant Head Chef to support our Head Chef in leading the kitchen of our modern casual dining restaurant. D'Tiffin serves beloved local Asian and Malay favorites in a contemporary setting.



You'll help bring traditional flavors to life with a creative touch, ensuring consistency, quality, and an enjoyable dining experience in a relaxed yet vibrant atmosphere.



Key Responsibilities:



1. Assist the Head Chef in preparing and presenting a wide range of classic and modern Malay dishes, including but not limited to:

Nasi lemak, mee siam, ayam goreng berempah, asam pedas, rendang, satay, laksa, mee mamak, and sambal-based dishes.

2. Ensure all dishes are cooked consistently and beautifully presented, reflecting the brand's casual yet high-quality identity.

3. Collaborate with the Head Chef and management team on seasonal menus, daily specials, and promotions.

4. Supervise kitchen operations and food preparation activities during service.

5. Maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene, cleanliness, and food safety in compliance with health regulations.

6. Support in managing inventory, stock rotation, and ingredient purchasing.

7. Assist in training and mentoring junior cooks and kitchen helpers.

8. Help maintain food cost control and minimize wastage.

Requirements:



1. At least 3-5 years of experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably in multi-outlet or high-volume establishments.

2. Strong knowledge of local spices, sambal variations, and traditional Malay cooking techniques, with an eye for modern plating.

3. Experience working in fast-paced service environments while maintaining consistency and quality.

4. A team player with leadership skills and the ability to coordinate kitchen operations effectively.

5. Understanding of food cost management, kitchen SOPs, and inventory control.

6. Familiarity with Halal food preparation standards.

7. Excellent communication skills to work smoothly with both kitchen and service teams.

8. Creative mindset with the ability to contribute ideas for fusion or contemporary twists on traditional Malay dishes.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM4,800.00 per month
