Position Summary



The Assistant Manager, Catering Operations leads catering activities at operational, tactical, and strategic levels, covering meal supply, warehousing, preparation, logistics, loading, and offloading.

All operations must comply with MAG, MAG CS, regulatory bodies, airline policies, standard operating procedures (SOP), and service level agreement (SLA).

Key Accountability



Operational Execution:
To lead and strategize overall operations and administration of the department in the most cost-effective manner (track spending against planned budget) within the approved budget through effective resources (manpower, facilities and processes) planning, management and collaboration with other relevant departments in accordance with set departmental goals. Formulates, implements and monitors appropriate policies and procedures to develop and improve day-to-day operations, safety, security and quality of service. Ensure that departmental administrative matters are managed according to departmental and company policy and procedures. Manage crisis within the catering operational area in ensuring the operation execution is being maintained at the level best and minimum impact, adhering to safety and security policy and delivering the expected standard.

Resource Planning and Management:
To plan and provide the team with adequate knowledge, skills, exposure and competencies consistent with safety and security policies for their development and career progression. Ensure sufficient resources inclusive of manpower, catering equipment, logistic equipment etc. is available for the day-to-day operation execution. Maintain a positive working environment and staff morale within the operational manpower resources.

Stakeholder Management:
Establish relationships with internal and external customers on operational issues and meet their needs in accordance with SLAs, service standards and expectations. Support and represent the Manager for documentation issuance related to Catering Services and meetings in his/her absence.

Continuous Improvement
Develop and implement new/amended standard operating procedures where appropriate for any new processes/changes which conform to Ground Operating Manual and enhance staff productivity, reinforcing safety & customer service standards. Any other task as per instructed by the superior or the management.

Qualification & Working Experience



Degree or Diploma in any related field with 4-5 years working experience in Aviation/Airline Catering or SPM with 7-8 years' experience in Aviation/Airline Catering. Preferably with ground handling experience.

Aviation/Airline Catering or Industrial Catering Ground Handling Crisis Management.

Personality Traits



Average command of writing and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia. Good in communication skills and time management Fundamental Project Management Strong leadership and interpersonal skill Well verse in Aircraft Handling - optional (added advantage for those who have the skills) Highly analytical (Computer literacy) and critical in Operations requirements (managing resources and proactive thinking).
