The Assistant Supervisor - Receiving supports the Receiving Supervisor in managing all incoming goods and inventory processes at the supermarket. This includes overseeing stock receiving operations, verifying documentation, supervising receiving clerks, and ensuring that all stock is accurately checked, recorded, and stored according to company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in supervising daily receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate processing of incoming stock.
Verify deliveries against invoices, purchase orders (POs), and delivery orders (DOs).
Check the quality, quantity, and condition of goods received - including expiry dates and damage.
Ensure proper documentation and accurate data entry into the inventory or stock system.
Guide and monitor receiving clerks to ensure SOPs are followed.
Coordinate with suppliers, procurement team, and department heads on delivery schedules and discrepancies.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the receiving and storage areas.
Support inventory control processes, including stock rotation and stocktaking.
Report any stock issues or safety hazards to the Receiving Supervisor or management.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and safety regulations, especially for perishable and frozen goods.
Requirements:
Minimum SPM or equivalent.
At least 1-2 years of experience in goods receiving or warehouse operations (preferably in retail or supermarket).
Familiarity with delivery documentation, stock systems, and basic inventory procedures.
Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading tasks.
Good leadership, organization, and communication skills.
Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
