JOB TITLE: Associate - IDT Finance (Finance Business Partner)

REPORTS TO: Manager - IDT Finance (Senior Finance Business Partner)

Purpose Statement:

As part of the Global DBS Finance Team, this primary responsibility of the role will be to provide financial business partnering to sub-functions within Global Services. Position also supports processes including forecast and actual cost analysis (Run & Invest Costs), ensuring SOX compliance, CAPEX and OPEX management of the sub-functions of Global Services under their remit. The role will provide insightful, accurate financial data and analysis on the sub-functions of Global Services' performance and report this to key business stakeholders and also actively participate in monthly pre-close review meetings with Global Services FBP team.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and co-ordinates finance activities to provide value added, commercially focused insights to the business. Plan and monitor the execution of strategy:
  • Manage IT Services cost and budgets to ensure monthly spend accurately reflect services consumed (forecasts, actual vs planned, accruals, etc.)
  • Produce finance dashboards and regular review with respective Global Services sub-functions' Leadership Team to explain variance, discuss action and drive resolution to close the finance gap.
  • Support annual budgeting process (SOP) to consolidate cost forecasts, budget movement analysis, SOP review presentations / waterfall analysis and achieve overall Global Services finance objectives
  • Understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for cost reduction/ cost optimization. Engage Solution Centre Managers, Service Managers and/or Business Units (End Markets) to implement cost savings plan.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis showing the financial implications of scenarios planning to steer strategic decision making.
  • Contribute to the optimization and co-ordination of IT cost recharges to End Markets.
  • Capex management - monthly co-ordination of Capex transfer approvals from budget holders, capitalization and depreciation phasing, impairment reviews.
  • Drive improvements to existing processes - automation, improved information, insights.
  • Ensure compliance to SOx, IFRS, GMAAP processes including accruals, impairment reviews, periodic data housekeeping and audit support as required.
  • Work closely with CFOM team to ensure data integrity in the reporting tool and dashboard
  • Support Senior FBP on ad-hoc projects
Core Relationships

Internal
  • Global Services/ Sub-Functions' Leadership Team - identify, recommend and implement improvements in the provision and analysis of financial information to assist senior management in reaching well-supported decisions
  • Global Services Finance Business Partner Team - collaborate as a team to define and lead the implementation of financial processes, and support financial modelling exercises for Global initiatives.
  • DBS CFOM Team (Planning & Reporting / Corporate Finance) - Ensure alignment on cost centre mapping vs. Run Cost Category, ensure accuracy of cost centre information and other data integrity alignments as necessary
  • Global Tech Hubs' / DRBU Finance Teams - Global alignment on cost recharges / budget transfers
  • Internal Auditors - Ensure audit compliance / provide clarity or resolution on audit queries as required
Skills, Knowledge, Experience

Education & Technical
  • Degree educated, with >5 years post graduate work experience in a complex IT services environment with reasonably good understanding on finance (accounting standard and finance methodology)
  • Professional accountancy qualification (i.e. ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) is desired but not required
  • Possess a good understanding of group & project accounting principles - able to guide budget holders
  • Understands intercompany recharge processes
  • Strong analytical skills able to handle high volumes of data and present information in an impactful way, increasing the use of financial systems ie SAP / BI / BPC / Planisware
  • Insightful, comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, proactive, collaborative and consultative
  • Experience of working in an IT or Technology environment a distinct advantage
  • Resilient and calm under pressure, knows when to escalate.
  • Ability to work independently and drive actions to achieve tight timelines.
