As a Bartender at Eastern & Oriental Express, a Belmond Train, you are an integral part of a bartending team that brings innovation to beverages and guest experiences. In this role, you\'ll work with a range of premium spirits, locally sourced ingredients, and unique flavours to craft exceptional and exclusive cocktails. You\'ll engage with guests, understand their preferences, and create customized cocktails tailored to their tastes. Primary responsibilities include: Preparing and serving a wide range of beverages, exhibiting a strong knowledge of different cocktails, beverages, and foods. Providing excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and making them feel welcome and comfortable Making recommendations to guests by demonstrating a thorough knowledge of the beverage menu, inlaying ingredients, flavours, and presentation of each drink Mixing and garnishing drinks to meet guest preferences and hotel standards Promoting featured drinks, specials, or promotions to guests Enforcing all legal regulations related to serving alcoholic beverages, such as checking identification for age verifications and refusing service to intoxicated individuals Eastern & Oriental Express is relaunching on February 19, 2024 . What you bring 1 - 2 years relevant experience within a similar role. Previous experience in a similar role - advantageous. Experience within the luxury hospitality industry - advantageous. Time management skills. Ability to follow instructions & work independently when required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Customer service skills. Good knowledge and understanding of food and wine. Basic knowledge of bar menu items and recipes. Basic knowledge of liquors, spirits, beers, wines and flavour profiles. We seek warm, genuine, authentic people with a passion for travel and discovery. You are self-assured without being arrogant, and keen to interact with our discerning guests. You are a great storyteller with a positive mindset and a can-do attitude. International exposure will be considered a plus. You must speak English. Additional languages, such as Japanese, Korean, Cantonese, French and German, are a benefit. We welcome a diversity of backgrounds, ethnicities and religions. Experience in the hospitality industry is a bonus, but not a necessity. You could be from an independent restaurant or bar, have worked in luxury retail or private villas, or be a tour guide.
