CNC MachinistThe successful candidate will be responsible for performing job assignments on CNC machines, including setup and tool selection for lathes, 5-axis mills, 5-axis grinders, drill presses, and other standard shop equipment. CNC machine operations will involve production on lathes or mills with minimal machine/program adjustments after setup. In addition to all standard machinist functions, this role includes more complex machine setups.This diligent individual will prepare documents and training materials for incoming machinists and act as the on-the-job trainer for their value stream. They will also assist engineering with validation and other plant setup activities.What will you be doing?The successful candidate will spend 70% of their time performing all machining functions, including frequent and complex CNC/mill and lathe setups and operations to produce quality parts based on provided specifications. They will also perform setups and operations on specialty machines.Another 20% of their time will be dedicated to training and continuous improvement, including training others on Levels I, II, and III machining skills through on-the-job training, creating OJT materials, acting as a tour guide and induction mentor, maintaining safety practices, participating in setup reduction and process improvement teams, and recommending and submitting program change requests.Additionally, 5% of their time will involve performing preventive maintenance, solving tooling issues, and conducting routine dimensional and visual inspections using basic measuring equipment. The remaining 5% will be allocated to other tasks as requested by the Team Leader, such as packaging, finishing, material deployment, quality control, and other machining areas. The candidate must comply with HSE policies and regulations, prevent safety and health injuries, environmental pollution, and energy wastage, and report all HSE incidents while providing feedback for HSE improvements.What will you need to be successful?The candidate should have a high school education or equivalent and a vocational certificate in Precision Machining Technology. Successful completion of a Machine Operator test is required. They must have 5 or more years of machining experience and be proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, using measuring instruments (micrometres, callipers, scales, indicators), and have in-depth knowledge of tooling identification. Initial training may require travel to the USA, Europe, or China for up to two months, but no further travel will be required afterwards.You.
