Job Description

Role Overview



The Crewing Intern will support the Crewing Department in managing day-to-day administrative and operational tasks related to seafarer recruitment, documentation, and crew change coordination. This role provides valuable exposure to the maritime and offshore industry, particularly in the areas of HR and compliance under MLC 2006 and company standards.

Key Responsibilities



1. Crew Documentation & Records

o Assist in maintaining and updating crew records in the company's database/crewing system (VMS).
o Support the preparation, filing, and verification of certificates, licenses, working permit, and medical documents.
o Ensure accuracy and completeness of crew personal files in VMS System.

2. Recruitment & Selection Support



o Coordinate interview schedules between candidates and crewing officers.

3. Crew Change Coordination



o Support in preparing crew joining documents and briefing packs.
o Monitor and update crew rotation plans under supervision.

4. Training & Development



o Help track crew training requirements and course attendance.
o Support in preparing training nomination forms and liaising with training providers.

5. Compliance & Audit Support



o Assist in ensuring compliance with flag state, MLC 2006, client, and internal requirements.
o Support in preparing documentation for internal/external audits.

6. Administrative & Ad Hoc Tasks



o Draft memos, letters, and official communications as required.
o Provide general administrative support to the crewing team.
o Participate in projects and initiatives assigned by the Crewing Manager.

Requirements



Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Maritime Studies, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.

Interest in the maritime/offshore industry and willingness to learn crewing operations.

Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

Good interpersonal and communication skills (English & Bahasa Malaysia; additional languages are an advantage).

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic database systems.

Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: RM1,000.00 - RM1,300.00 per month
