The EY Research Institute supports this ambition by convening a team of subject matter experts, analysts, and researchers to support the firms most ambitious research projects. This team works directly with senior EY business leaders and marketing professionals to develop and deliver exceptional research projects that ultimately support conversations with EY clients and compelling content for EY.com. The opportunity As part of the EY Research Institute, you will have the opportunity to showcase your deep data science and quantitative research expertise to help us deliver exceptional insights and thought leadership. You will work directly with senior EY business leaders to co-create and execute 10-15 high impact research projects a year on a mix of cross-cutting and sector-specific business topics. You will leverage a broad range of data science techniques and identify opportunities to develop new analytical approaches to create differentiated points of view. These projects will result in high visibility publications on EY.com and the opportunity to support activation of insights with EY clients. All your work will be in collaboration with a cross-functional team including EY Knowledge analysts, data and analytics experts, editorial teams, internal/external activation networks and external institutions e.g. academics, think tanks. Your key responsibilities You will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering the data science aspects of each project. You will: Work directly with EY business leaders and our marketing team to turn a high-level research objective into a set of clear, business relevant, and testable hypotheses Collaborate with other quantitative and qualitative researchers in our group to determine the optimal mixed-methods research strategy. Devise creative solutions to address the research objectives using the tools and techniques of data science. Execute the research strategy. You will be responsible for delivery of any data science related elements. This includes data wrangling, exploratory analysis, building and testing multiple models, and recommending a final analytical solution. Oversee a team of 2-5 data scientists to execute data analysis, including providing guidance on research methodology, ensuring use of best practices, and ensuring the quality of insights and outputs generated. Turn observations in the data into a compelling narrative and communicate these findings clearly and concisely to senior EY business leaders and executive audiences. Partner with writers and marketing professionals to turn the narrative into thought leadership for EY.com. Skills and attributes for success You are a data scientist who can demonstrate a track record of creative, innovative and big picture thinking. You are at your best when collaborating and iterating to achieve optimal results. You thrive in a commercial environment using your strong business acumen to identify opportunities and gaps from the research conducted and develop compelling, business-relevant points of view. Your communication, presentation and storytelling skills are compelling and concise, and you are excited to identify and share new analytic approaches, novel insights, and distinctive points of view. You are excited to disseminate knowledge and coach others to improve their data literacy, technical skills, and understanding of what\'s possible with data. To qualify for the role you must have At least 10 years of experience in strategy, business analysis, or quantitative research in an academic or business setting. At least 7 years of experience in data science, math, or statistics using a broad range of data science techniques to conduct quantitative research. This will include significant experience with exploratory data analysis, text analytics (NLP), segmentation/ clustering, multivariate regression, and supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms. A track record of designing and executing hypothesis-driven research projects that deliver compelling insights on a business topic. A theoretical and practical understanding of data wrangling, statistical assumptions underlying machine learning algorithms, how to assess model fit and performance, coding conventions and hygiene, and how to build a tech stack for data science analysis Experience with appropriate data science tools such as Python or R The ability to critically assess research results & advise on how to analyse, distil, and present key insights that may not be immediately obvious Ability to work asynchronously across time zones as part of a global team Ideally, you\'ll also have Experience managing a team to deliver research projects using data science techniques Experience with the relational databases (e.g., SQL) and the Microsoft Azure stack Experience creating bespoke or interactive data visualizations (e.g., Plotly, Bokeh, D3.js) Experience conducting research for thought leadership in a business setting What we offer As part of this role, you\'ll work in a highly integrated, global team with the opportunity and tools to grow, develop and drive your career forward.
