We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Product and Engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, APAC Division Product and Engineering, this senior leadership role is pivotal to the success of our KL GO Centre, as the candidate will oversee all KL based APAC Division engineering teams, driving innovation, excellence, and scalability of our products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in building and nurturing high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, and delivering outstanding technical results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership and Development:

• Recruit, onboard, and mentor top engineering talent to build a strong and diverse team.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning within the engineering organization.
• Provide technical and career guidance to team members, enabling them to grow in their roles.

2. Strategic Direction and Execution:

• Collaborate with the APAC Division product leadership team to define and execute the regional engineering strategy aligned with business goals.
• Drive the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and innovative products, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Valuate and implement processes, tools, and technologies to improve engineering efficiency and productivity.

3. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Design, Engineering and DevOps/BAU to deliver on our strategic product roadmaps.
• Act as the key point of contact between the engineering teams and other stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and goals.
• Communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities effectively to the product leadership team and broader organization.

4. Technical Excellence:

• Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to ensure the team leverages cutting-edge technologies and approaches.
• Champion technical excellence, ensuring robust architecture, scalable solutions, and high standards of code quality.

5. Regional Impact and Growth:

• Establish the Kuala Lumpur GO Centre as a hub for engineering excellence in the region.
• Build a strong employer brand to attract and retain top talent in the local and regional markets.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Experience in an APAC regional Engineering Manager role in a Saas/software business
• Proven track record in recruiting, building, and managing high-performing engineering teams.
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern development practices and technologies.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile environments with distributed teams.
• A passion for innovation, problem-solving, and driving results.

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
