Field Sales Engineer \xe2\x80\x93 Malaysia, Penang

This position will need to provide a positive customer experience, focus on our customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs and pain points, thereby retaining market share or increasing company share of wallet and ensure the highest possible return on investment of our front-line sales resources. An account portfolio manager must constantly be looking for ways to make it easier for our customers to become more successful by providing solutions not just products.

The Role

  • Plan sales activities through market analysis to define the appropriate customers that will facilitate implementation of company strategy.
  • Careful and productive planning of customer visits including the purpose and the agenda.
  • Engage in effective listening to the customers that facilitates learning and fully understand the customer needs and requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to react to customer needs.
  • Negotiate agreements in collaboration with customers and business partners to reach the best solution.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate and align company products and processes that result in an optimized solution for the customer requirements.
  • Actively sell our products and services by providing value-added solutions that meet our customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs.
  • Promote the complete range of Walter\xe2\x80\x99s products and services to meet customers\xe2\x80\x99 needs.
  • Actively follow-up the sales orders from the customers upon their agreements and securing the proposed value-added solutions.
  • Document and report sales activities including test reports and cost savings, and forecasts of business through monitoring of customers and competitors.
Your Profile
  • University Degree or diploma in engineering preferably related to mechanical/ manufacturing studies, and experience yielding equivalent knowledge in cutting tool technology.
  • At least 5 years of sales experience with industrial cutting tools where new business development is the primary focus OR 5 years of manufacturing experience and ability to sell in end-user and channel sales model.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or distribution marketplace.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise good discipline in working home-based or virtual office environment and traveling a significant amount of time.
  • Strong communication skills and fluent in the English language.
  • Candidate must have the legal right to live and work in Malaysia, and currently based in Penang.
  • Candidate must possess a current driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a car to enable customer visits.
