Job Description

The Production Engineering team is an established front office team, which handles trading-related processes. The candidate is expected to have hands-on experience in IT Operations roles and robust software development skills. We are looking for someone who can address complex problems without creating avoidable future complications. This engineer should have a solid understanding of software architecture in general, and particularly the demands of infrastructure management tasks. They should be able to effectively communicate and accept feedback on their development decisions and recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Develop in-house IT operations tools primarily in Go, SQL, Bash, and Python
• Integrate with internal software, OSS, commercial tools, CI/CD pipelines and on-premises virtualization
• Operate the trading system and related software, as a backup and on rotation
• Communicate effectively during incident management
• Contribute with empathy to the team\'s code quality through code reviews and direct feedback

Skills

Must have

• Clear communication in English is a requirement
• A 4+ years Computer Science from a reputable institution
• 6+ years of combined software development and IT operations experience
• Understanding Linux platform components: file systems, processes, memory, networking, etc.
• Required experience operating and automating "bare-metal" Linux systems
• Demonstrated ability to operate distributed applications on Linux/Unix platforms
• Demonstrated aptitude for clean and resilient software design
• Proficiency with either Go or Python, familiarity with Bash scripting
• Good understanding of SQL database operation and programming
• Experience with columnar engines like Vertica and messaging technologies like Kafka is a plus
• Prior experience in the financial industry is not required, but a plus
• Mature, thoughtful, able to operate in a collaborative, team-oriented culture
• Motivated by the transformational effects of technology-at-scale
