Job Description

A multinational coffee and baked goods restaurant chain is looking for Halal QA to measure the compliance level to food safety, sanitation and product quality for their 1st outlet in Kuala Lumpur.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct unannounced internal outlet regular audit to measure outlets compliance level and overall outlet health by reviewing outlets practices and tools
• Handle, review and evaluate product complaints as per procedures
• Conduct key ingredients evaluation and develop effective applications based on customers\' requirements and within customers\' development schedule
• Conduct sensory evaluation on supplier sample and new product sample
• Responsible for understanding culinary trends and delivering new and innovative products that meet customer needs
• Support in executing Supplier Quality Management program, evaluate current supplier base and identify opportunities for improvement
• Effectively communicate to outlets on best practices, product safety and quality standards
• Develop new product and product improvement that meet customer expectations and profit targets
• Establish product information eg. product spec, nutritional, shelf life, SOP, Halal submission document and product cost review
• Understand customer brand and work closely with Business Development to develop new products to achieve business goals
• Coordinate with inter-department eg. Procurement, Production, QA and QC to meet product quality

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor\'s Degree/ Diploma in Culinary Arts/ Food Technology/ Food Science/ Food Processing and any related field
• Formal background or training in technical areas relevant to product safety standards (HACCP /GFSI)
• Preferably 1 year of working experience in quality control and quality assurance management in F&B chain industry restaurant
• Knowledge of food safety standards, quality assurance terminology, implementations, methods and tools
• Technical knowledge and hands on experience in handling certification audit such as HACCP is preferred
• Attention to details and accuracy, meticulous with good problem solving skills
• Confident, proactive, able to work under pressure and meet tight timelines
• Able to articulate new information quickly and react positively to new and challenging opportunities
• Able to communicate effectively with team members, internal colleagues, operation peers and suppliers
• Possess own transport and wiling to travel
