The job details are as below:

  • Overall responsibility for Engineering activities across the business.
  • Create and implement best practice engineering vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance.
  • Ensure that engineering strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market.
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
  • Take ownership of the engineering policy, guidelines and any associated documents.
  • Initiate and develop creative and innovative engineering processes.
  • 2 or 3 Engineering Managers (assembly technical, technical project, equipment, process engineer) reporting to him.
  • Parallel with Operational Manager level but OM take care of daily P&L activities with technician and operator or supervisor reporting underneath.
  • Whereas for Head of Engineering who is taking care of steps functional improvement , tackle issue that affect operation process to drive permanent solution for technical improvement of the entire factory.
  • Centralised engineering improvement person.
  • Lead the entire technical team (Centre of Excellence for Operation/Engineering in technical depth).
  • To drive strategic changes, the mind-set to change the current operational issues (technically) such as clean up current factory machine performance.
  • Must be familiar with assembly process, preferably possess green / black six sigma belt.
  • Familiar with IR 4.0, automation, six sigma process and drive technical solutions.
  • The KPI of this role is yield improvement, OEE improvement, automation projects, quality improvements, value engineering and strategizing the factory performance technically.
  • Future path, successor for GM who can be operational excellence centric that able to drive in business and bring in strategic changes not only in term of technical improvement but also people management.
  • The benchmark is business continuity plan in 3 aspects:
1. Equipment performance - Old equipment - plans or changes for certain period of time within timeframe with backup plan (technology roadmap).

2. Quality -Challenges with customer on quality (technical solution for burning issue that able to bring down the burning issue and mobilize the team to clean up the current issue.

3. Yield & Cost innovation - with technical improvement strategy and statistical data support such as find out the root cause of problem and conduct analysis.

\xc2\xb7 Most importantly PRACTICAL, HANDSON, DOWN To the Ground to production line to solve the problem and issue together as a team.

\xc2\xb7 Possess strategic thinking with implementation sustainability in long run for long term strategic planning and people or talent development.
  • Preferably candidates from MNC, not limited to OSAT.
