Job Description


JOB PURPOSETo drive and enhance Agrobank\'s sustainability agenda in line with its vision - \'Advancing Agriculture Beyond Banking\'. Sustainability / VBI forms the basis of the Beyond Banking spirit which focuses on delivering value and sustainable economy, society empowerment and environmental development. The outcome of the role is to put Agrobank in a leading position as a socially and environmentally responsible DFI, without compromising shareholders\' returns.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for an effective cost management, i.e., to prudently manage cost against annual departmental budget.
  • Lead initiatives to increase Bank\'s sustainable / green financing portfolio to reduce ESG risk exposures of the Bank.
  • Represent the Bank in interaction with regulators and other relevant bodies, and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of the Bank\'s Annual Integrated Report.
  • Act as key spokesperson for the Bank and all sort of communications pertaining to sustainability with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Champion all Bank\'s initiatives and efforts on addressing sustainability issues, including climate change issues.
  • Inculcate value creation mindset in the Bank through effective campaigns and thought leadership programs to strengthen Bank\'s capability in sustainability matters.
  • Active involvement in formulation of policy documents and guidelines on sustainability / climate change at industry levels.
  • Lead the development and implementation of community empowerment and corporate responsibility programmes.
  • Represent the Bank in interactions with relevant global movements or associations centered on sustainability (e.g. Global Compact, UNEP-FI, PRI etc.) as a platform for the Bank to commit its pledge towards sustainable development.
  • Lead the development and the implementation process of Bank\'s Sustainability Strategy as well as its relevant frameworks and policies.
  • Oversee and review sustainability issues and seek solutions to address risks/gaps as well as creating opportunities where Bank can improve and advance its sustainability positioning.
  • Lead the implementation of stakeholder engagement strategy as an effective communication tool for the Bank.
QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
Minimum graduate from a recognised University, preferably with banking & finance, environmental sciences/ sustainable development/ anthropology or law background.Professional certification in sustainability/ESG/sustainability reporting would be and added advantage.Experience:
Minimum 10 years of working experience. Experience implementing similar programmes in financial institutions strongly preferred.Involvement or participation in community or environmental-related projects / programs will be an added advantage.KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • A strong advocate of sustainability.
  • Strong foundation in sustainability-related agenda such as Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Paris Agreement on Climate Change, Global Compact, Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) or Value-based Intermediation (VBI) etc.
  • Understanding of sustainability issues and its impact to business, particularly the financial services sector.
  • Experienced in managing or dealing with various stakeholders ranging from Government, regulator, strategic partner, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), media, associations etc.
  • Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to multi-task and work in a high-performance professional environment.
  • Leadership and people skills. Ability to lead, manage and motivate team effectively.
  • Effective communication. Ability to express thoughts, good interpersonal, communications, relationship building and presentation skills.
  • Systematic and structured thinking. Analytical with ability to present concept and case in a holistic / \'big picture\' manner.
  • Agile and versatile. Ability to respond positively, flexibly, and quickly to changing work processes, environment, culture, and priorities.
  • Collaborative mindset, and ability to work with a wide range of internal partners from across the Bank.
  • Results-oriented and impact-based attributes. Ability to think and act with end in mind.
  • Program management. Ability to manage and deliver on a project or initiative.
  • Ability to analyze data and information and present findings in a concise manner.
Added advantage if the incumbent possesses the following:
  • Experience in speaking engagement on sustainability topics through conferences, webinars, forums, or dialogues. An \'influencer\' in sustainability.
  • Experience in formulating, implementing, and managing sustainable financing and sustainable related products that are currently in the market such as sustainability-linked financing, green loans, green sukuk etc.
  • Experience in adopting Integrated Reporting Framework and Sustainability Reporting or other best reporting practices/standards such as Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Sustainable Accounting Standards Board (SASB) and/or Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD).
