No matter the purpose of the trip - work, rest, or play, each Traders offers a thoughtfully designed environment enabling guests to be focused on what really matters.Located at the heart of the Kuala Lumpur city center, Traders Hotel by Shangri-La is looking for a dynamic, and multi-skilled talent in delivering our Asian hospitality.As Hostess, we rely on you:

  • Greeting Guests: Welcome guests warmly as they enter the bar area, ensuring they feel valued and comfortable.
  • Seating Arrangements: Escort guests to their seats, considering their preferences and the availability of tables.
  • Managing Reservations: Handle reservations and manage the waiting list during busy periods.
  • Providing Menus: Present menus to guests and inform them about any specials or promotions.
  • Answering Queries: Address any questions guests may have about the menu, drinks, or the hotel facilities.
  • Coordinating with Staff: Communicate with waitstaff and bartenders to ensure smooth service and timely delivery of orders.
  • Monitoring the Bar Area: Keep an eye on the bar area to ensure it remains clean and organized, and that guests are attended to promptly.
  • Handling Complaints: Manage any guest complaints or issues with professionalism and ensure their satisfaction.
  • Assisting with Events: Help in organizing and managing events or special occasions held in the bar area.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in Tourism/ Hospitality/ Hotel Management or Minimum SPM level Education or relevant certificate.
  • Proficient in oral and written English and Malay.
  • Presentable and pleasant appearance.
  • Performing a similar position for at least 1 year.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with guests and ensure a positive experience.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage reservations, seating, and coordinate with other staff efficiently.
  • Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication with guests and team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues promptly.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
