The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with company objectives, ensuring compliance with Malaysian labour laws, and fostering a positive, performance-driven workplace culture.
This role requires a hands-on HR leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational excellence -- managing people, policies, and processes effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, plan, and manage the overall HR operations including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, compensation & benefits, and compliance.
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure alignment with business goals.
Partner with management to identify workforce needs and execute effective talent acquisition strategies.
Oversee employee engagement, welfare, and retention programs to promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
Advise management on HR matters including disciplinary actions, grievances, and employee counseling.
Manage and review payroll processes to ensure accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
Maintain and update HR documentation such as employee handbooks, SOPs, and job descriptions.
Monitor and ensure compliance with local labour laws, regulations, and company policies.
Conduct training needs analysis and coordinate learning & development initiatives for staff at all levels.
Prepare and analyze HR reports, dashboards, and workforce metrics to support business decisions.
Requirements
Must be a Sarawakian
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum
5-8 years of progressive HR experience
, with at least
3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
.
Strong knowledge of Malaysian labour laws and HR best practices.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software systems (e.g., HRMS, payroll systems).
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
