Job Description


:The Project HSSE Lead is responsible for the provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to Health, Safety, Security and Environment with respect to Legislation, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements, thereby reducing risks to the business and project.Responsibilities:

  • Provides strategic advice and guidance to the Project Manager on all HSSE related matters including implementation of the Construction HSSE Management System.
  • Develop project HSSE objectives and execute the annual HSSE objectives and initiatives.
  • Active support to project\'s early preparation scope and technical selection of subcontractors e.g. civil, mechanical, etc.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections at project location.
  • Provides support to Project Manager in incident and accident investigations through the use of an appropriate investigation process. Upload report into corporate incident reporting platform.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize incidents and injuries.
  • Lead a positive HSSE culture and behavior program across the project and is pro-active in all HSSE matters.
  • Liaise with Project Manager to ensure HSSE attendance at key project meetings such as Project kick-off, progress meetings, client/contractor meetings and participation in discussion on worksite status and potential project interface needs with relevant stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with project teams, management, and third parties to ensure high safety standards are implemented throughout all project phases.
  • Responsible for the preparation and delivery of project specific HSSE procedures and plans including collation and distribution of HSSE performance statistics at the end of each month
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CSP) preferred
  • Registered SHO in Malaysia
  • Minimum of 10 years of working experience in HSSE, with specific experience in HSSE management within construction projects.
  • Qualified and experienced Auditor (preferred). Trained in Incident Investigation (preferred)
  • Sarawak Work Permit (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Sarawak HSSE regulations, standards, and best practices (preferred)
  • Familiar with and able to apply OSHA requirements for Construction Industry
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
