Job Description


If you are looking to excel and make a difference, take a closer look at us Overview Responsible for applications maintenance, development, implementation and support for Java applications and all the related interfaces with downstream systems. Participates in user requirement study/analysis and systems design for the above mentioned applications. Undertake incident / problem trouble shooting and adopts appropriate actions to address reported incident / problem according to the stipulated SOP and good methodologies / practices. Assists Team Lead to plan, coordinate and execute applications development, implementation and production support activities. Assists users in understanding & interpreting user requirements, coordinating with relevant parties in business specifications gathering & documentation and liaising with PMO/GITI/GITS/SME in technical solution development. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Implementation, support and maintenance of applications assigned Responsible for system analysis, system design, application development, report generation, amendment and enhancement for applications assigned Ensure amended and enhanced systems meet user functional requirement specifications. Ensure that all documentation, processes and methodologies used in the various phases of system development and implementation are in accordance with the Bank\'s standards. Ensure proper documentation of all development to facilitate future maintenance and enhancements. Employs the risk assessment methodology issued by the Information Security Department to ensure proper controls are build as required by the business Builds appropriate controls into business application software to ensure the stability, security and reliability. Analyze changes & impact on existing systems Provide expert advice for best solution to production problems Liaise with users to define systems requirements Liaise with vendor to define technical requirements Provide options/alternatives available to address Users Business Requirements and recommendation on software solution Provide support during implementation of software and systems. Liaise with other Departments within division for smooth deployment of Application Software. Prioritization and assignment of tasks for development and implementation Evaluation and acquisition of tools, utilities, hardware (including upgrades) and software Decision on the Technical Approach to be used to address systems\' enhancements Proposal on enhancement of applications for better performance Technology platform assessment inclusive of stress test benchmarking Education/Qualification Malaysian Citizen Degree in Computer Science & Information Technology Experience 6 years of experience in IT Enterprise Applications related functions - development & support in financial environment Experience in application server clustering, performance tuning and testing Experience developing applications using components with Java (J2EE) Experience working and administering with WebSphere applications in Unix (AIX) Experience with databases like IBMDB2 or Oracle Special Skills Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms, Spring Framework and Java Server Faces (JSF) Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. In depth understanding of framework design and architecture Ability to articulate issue & capable of providing long term solution with short term mitigation plan
