Job Summary

We are looking for a Junior Database Engineer with strong hands-on experience in managing and supporting enterprise databases. The ideal candidate should be skilled in Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB administration, with exposure to Unix/Linux environments. Experience in Sybase is an advantage.

This role focuses on database design support, performance improvement, and troubleshooting across multiple environments.

Key Responsibilities

Support

database design

, schema creation, and structure optimization. Execute

performance tuning

, query optimization, and capacity planning. Perform

database troubleshooting

, root cause analysis, and incident resolution. Manage installation, configuration, and maintenance of

Oracle, MySQL, and MariaDB

databases. Write and optimize

SQL scripts

for automation and maintenance tasks. Monitor database performance and ensure high availability, security, and integrity. Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams for issue resolution and deployment support.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Primary Skills (Must-Have)

Strong hands-on experience with:

Oracle

MySQL

MariaDB

Proficiency in

Unix/Linux

environments Strong knowledge of

SQL

(querying, debugging, optimization) Experience in: Database design Performance improvement Troubleshooting & incident support

Good to Have (Added Advantage)

Knowledge of

Sybase

Exposure to automation or scripting for DB operations Understanding of backup/restore tools and HA/DR environments
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM6,500.00 - RM7,500.00 per month
