Role Summary:

The Key Account Manager (KAM) is responsible for the overall Viatris relationship with a select portfolio of strategic, complex key accounts. This person is responsible for profitable & sustainable growth of the high value accounts through various strategic partnership and long-term business building.

Key Responsibilities:

CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT

  • Identifies key customers including Decision Making Units (DMUs) within the key account.
  • Leads, coordinates and manages the long-term, consultative, senior executive customer relationship to become the customer's trusted business advisor. Extends the relationship beyond traditional procurement and contracting into other lines of business.
  • Demonstrates expertise in relationship skills which promote and enable development of new relationships within the key accounts.
  • Creatively delivers innovation and thought leadership to the key account relationship to increase strategic relevance of the Viatris brand.
  • Represents the full spectrum of Viatris value to the customer and serves as the customer advocate internally at Viatris.
  • Responsible for overall service excellence with key accounts.
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
  • Manages all Viatris commercial activities around a set of key accounts to achieve agreed upon business obajectives
  • Ensures that sales opportunities are maximized across the total Viatris Portfolio
  • Analyzes and understands local environment, key account business, and aligned Viatris priorities to create mutually beneficial Key Account Plans that optimize sales opportunities and deliver improved key account outcomes.
  • Implements and manages the Key Account Plan to drive the resources needed to develop mutually beneficial opportunities within key accounts.
  • Creates and executes value propositions developed from key market and account insights.
  • Works to ensure provider access to Viatris products within key accounts
  • Monitors progress with key accounts and evolves Key Account Plans as appropriate.
  • Anticipates, mitigates, and manages the risks to both Viatris and key accounts.
LEADERSHIP
  • Applies a mastery of business acumen, including understanding of key account business, industry, economic trends, issues and competition. Is prepared to educate colleagues across Viatris on insights gained.
  • Leads development of Key Account Plans that align Viatris core capabilities to key account strategic imperatives.
  • Leads the process of developing, negotiating, and implementing contracts that mutually meet key account and Viatris requirements.
  • Coordinates and leads with cross functional teams to deploy Viatris offers and/or value propositions with customers.
  • Is able to take a short/mid/long-term view of Viatris's business with key accounts, aligning across Viatris categories when appropriate.
  • Provides Marketing and Strategy Teams key local and customer specific insights that can be utilized in creating new market specific materials.
  • Participates in industry and business related organizations, societies, conferences, and other Key Account Management related activities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree required. MBA or advanced degree in a related field preferred. Management and/or Account Management experience strongly recommended.
  • 5-7 years of previous pharmaceutical, or medical marketing/sales experience preferred.
  • Proficient in local language required, fluency in English recommended.
  • Has experience in proactively engaging at senior executive level within account organizations. Can provide evidence of having developed and executed business strategies to substantially increase account growth.
  • Has in-depth industry knowledge and expertise.
  • Has demonstrated ability to build strong network of senior executive contacts within the industry
  • Demonstrates creativity and judgment in delivering innovative new approaches and solutions that meet customer requirements.
  • Has experience in analyzing complex new situations, anticipates potential problems & future needs, and assesses opportunity impacts and risks.
  • Able to articulate a differentiated value proposition to the customer.
  • Team-oriented style and manner to work collaboratively and effectively in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrates strong business consulting skills including: Problem solving, Negotiation, Influence, Facilitation, Listening, and Project Management.
