KueMue is a fast-growing foodtech startup creating compact, user-friendly tools that help home bakers and small businesses produce food more efficiently. From dough dispensers to customizable molds, we design practical, real-world innovations that empower creators and foodpreneurs.
As we scale our product range and manufacturing capacity, we're looking for a hands-on and resourceful Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our product and engineering team.
Role Overview
This internship is ideal for mechanical engineering students eager to experience the full product development cycle -- from concept design to prototyping and production. You'll work closely with our founder, engineers, and designers to create meaningful tools for real users.
What You'll Do
Design & Product Development
Assist in developing new mechanical product concepts focused on functionality, manufacturability, and user experience
Translate sketches and ideas into detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings
Conduct engineering calculations and design validations where required (tolerancing, stress/strain estimations, basic FEA)
Prototyping & Testing
Build and test mechanical prototypes using 3D printing, machining, and assembly tools
Participate in hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement to enhance usability, safety, and reliability
Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing) by learning how to optimise mechanical designs for production
Collaboration & Research
Join brainstorming sessions and design reviews with cross-functional teams
Research materials, mechanisms, and component options to inform smarter designs
Stay updated on trends in mechanical design, consumer products, and foodtech innovations
Requirements
Diploma/Degree student in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Familiar with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
Good understanding of mechanical principles, mechanisms, and basic materials selection
Able to sketch and communicate ideas clearly
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn from real-world projects
Bonus if you:
Have experience with 3D printing, machining, or hands-on prototyping
Know basic FEA or simulation tools
Have designed for plastic parts, small mechanisms, or consumer products
Are familiar with Arduino or mechatronic components (optional but advantageous)
What You'll Gain
Real experience developing mechanical products that go into production
A portfolio of tangible engineering design and prototype work
Mentorship from startup founders and engineers
Potential conversion to a full-time role after graduation
Allowance + performance bonus (based on contribution)
Friendly, innovation-driven work environment (and unlimited coffee)
