KueMue is a fast-growing foodtech startup creating compact, user-friendly tools that help home bakers and small businesses produce food more efficiently. From dough dispensers to customizable molds, we design practical, real-world innovations that empower creators and foodpreneurs.
As we scale our product range and manufacturing capacity, we're looking for a hands-on and innovative Mechatronic Engineering Intern to join our product and engineering team.
Role Overview
This internship is perfect for mechatronics students who want to experience the full product development cycle -- from ideation, mechanical design, and electronics integration to prototyping and testing. You'll work closely with our founder, engineers, and designers to develop meaningful tools for real users.
What You'll Do
Product & Mechanism Development
Assist in developing new mechatronic product concepts, integrating mechanical systems with electronic components for optimal function and user experience
Translate sketches and ideas into detailed 3D CAD models and basic circuit or system diagrams
Prepare technical drawings and documentation for internal, prototyping, and manufacturing use
Prototyping, Electronics, & Testing
Build and test functional prototypes using 3D printing, breadboards, microcontrollers (Arduino or similar), and sensors
Participate in testing, troubleshooting, and iterative improvement to enhance usability, reliability, and manufacturability
Support DFM (Design for Manufacturing) by learning how to optimise electromechanical designs for production
Collaboration & Ideation
Join brainstorming sessions and engineering discussions with cross-functional teams
Research sensors, actuators, mechanisms, and foodtech applications to inform smarter designs
Stay updated on trends in mechatronics, automation, and compact consumer products
Requirements
Diploma/Degree student in Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with electronics knowledge, or a related field
Familiar with CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
Basic knowledge of electronics, sensors, microcontrollers, and system integration
Able to sketch and communicate ideas clearly
Curious, proactive, and eager to learn from real-world projects
Bonus if you:
Have experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or simple automation projects
Are comfortable with 3D printing and hands-on prototyping
Know basic programming for mechatronics applications (C/C++, Python)
Have designed or built mechanisms, small machines, or robotic systems
What You'll Gain
Real experience developing mechatronic products that go into production
A portfolio of tangible engineering and prototype work
Mentorship from startup founders and engineers
Potential conversion to a full-time role after graduation
Allowance + performance bonus (based on contribution)
Friendly, innovation-driven work environment (and unlimited coffee)
