The QA/QC Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and maintaining the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure product, process, and service excellence. This role oversees all aspects of quality control, laboratory operations, and compliance with international standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025. The incumbent will drive continuous improvement, support cross-functional collaboration, and ensure that all products and processes meet or exceed customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership in developing and enhancing the Quality Management System, ensuring integration across organizational processes.
Develop, implement, communicate, and maintain quality plans that align with ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements.
Manage inspection and product release programs for incoming materials, in-process components, and finished goods.
Evaluate product and supplier specifications against customer requirements to ensure compliance.
Establish and implement goals, objectives, policies, and systems related to QA/QC and laboratory operations.
Define QA/QC compliance objectives and ensure all targets are consistently met.
Lead investigations and root cause analyses for non-conformance issues; coordinate corrective and preventive actions within set timelines.
Manage customer quality-related communications, including survey responses, audits, and complaint resolutions.
Develop systems to measure internal and external customer satisfaction; implement improvements where necessary.
Lead customer audits and ensure alignment with strategic customers' quality programs and expectations.
Drive continuous improvement in analytical accuracy and standardization of complaint handling across the quality team.
Review customer survey results, coordinate improvement plans, and ensure timely closure of action items.
Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate quality performance.
Conduct Management Review Meetings to assess performance, discuss ideas, and identify opportunities for system enhancement.
Collect, analyze, and present performance data and statistical reports to management.
Supervise and mentor QA/QC and laboratory staff, ensuring adherence to quality standards and laboratory best practices.
Provide in-house training and guidance on proper equipment usage, testing methods, and quality procedures.
Collaborate with Production, Commercial/Planning, and Warehouse teams to address and resolve quality issues and cross-check findings.
Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned by management as needed.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
10-15 years of experience in quality management, particularly in
chemical analysis of metals
,
metallurgical testing
, or
operations in smelting plants, sponge iron, or ferroalloy industries
.
Strong knowledge of laboratory testing instruments and ISO 9001/ISO 17025 standards.
Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a diverse team effectively.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work across cultural and functional boundaries.
Proven track record of implementing and maintaining Quality Management Systems.
