About the role

As a Lab Technician, your role at Kerry Penang involves supporting the QA team by collecting samples and conducting tests for finished products. You\'ll contribute to maintaining high-quality standards in our manufacturing processes, collaborating with the team in 3 rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Collect finished product samples according to the sampling plan.
• Conduct physical and chemical testing per testing methods and frequency.
• Assist in line troubleshooting and investigation.
• Verify foreign matter as per SOP.
• Perform ATP and protein swab for processing line, supporting cleaning verification.
• Daily calibration of necessary equipment in the physical lab.
• Prepare chemical solutions as per working instructions.
• Pack and maintain reference and retain samples for each production run.
• Keep the retained samples room clean and organized.
• Ensure tests and inspection activities follow procedures.
• Implement and maintain HACCP, Quality Control, and Good Laboratory Practices.
• Record-keeping for quality control check sheets, including data entry into log sheets and SAP.
• Communicate on issues with relevant departments.
• Maintain cleanliness in laboratories and other QA areas. Uphold 5S at all times.
• Ensure compliance with HSE and Life requirements.
• Fill in required documents for shifts, attendance, OTs, and other HR requirements. Submit leaves and OTs as per procedure.

Qualifications and skills

• Diploma / Degree in Food Technology / Nutrition / Dietetics, Food & Beverage Services Management, Engineering (Industrial), or equivalent.
• SPM (science stream) with at least 2 years\' experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered.
• Minimum 1 year of working experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Computer literate with good communication skills.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and Malay.
• Able to work in shifts.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision. Dynamic, result-oriented, and able to handle pressure.
