Job Summary

The core of this job is to lead the Malaysia Indirect Procurement Team and to strategically engage with all local stake-holders/user departments including the leadership team. The Malaysia IP Leader is responsible to drive seamless implementation of global procurement policies for all Indirect Services and Materials and to adapt Global/Regional strategy to the hub by connecting with both Division & Global IP Teams.

In scope categories

Commercial: Integrated Advertising Communication (IMC) and other Marketing projects in the areas of Advertising production, Agency fee management, working media, Media partnerships. Responsibilities will cover both traditional, digital advertising with a big focus on eCommerce.
Supply: manufacturing spends like capex projects and on-going goods and services
Demand/CS&L: Spends related to logistics like freight (road, ocean, etc...), warehousing, customs...
Professional services: services like rent, insurance, travel , canteen, fleet.

Main responsibilities:

-Manage and Develop local Indirect Procurement team (including hiring, coaching, training and creating a succession plan)
-Managing strategic business relationships, internally and externally.
-Developing and executing a procurement strategy that supports local commercial plans while delivering Procurement key targets (Growth, Financials, Resilience)
-In depth understanding of business priorities and regular interaction and alignment with the Mgmt Team.
-Ensuring that all Indirect Procurement mandates are respected (Indirect Procurement involvement with all spends, supplier creation, PO compliance, etc.)
-Ensuring service and quality objectives are maintained and continuously improved, and all issues are resolved quickly.
-Working collaboratively with division and global spend Category Leaders, stakeholders and suppliers to ensure centrally led sourcing projects meet local business requirements and are executed efficiently.
-Maintaining, with help of category leaders, a knowledge of best practices, processes, and technology trends and sharing this knowledge with Hub stakeholders.
-Implementing metrics, tools, and new processes to optimize sourcing, supplier innovation and business simplification (ie. Relationship Mgmt Programs, KPI's, Redesigning processes for simplification, etc.)
-Developing and implementing comprehensive change management plans to ensure organizational readiness for the implementation of improved sourcing processes and strategies.
-Development and negotiation of contract agreements with suppliers, in partnership with the Legal Department.
-Providing regular updates to the Management Team on status vs. annual objectives, major projects, key issues, etc.

Required Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in any relevant field
-Minimum 12 years of experience in Procurement
-Minimum 6 years of experience in Indirect Procurement in an FMCG environment
-Strong negotiation skills
-Experience in vendor evaluations and action planning
-Experience in Project Management of complex scopes
-Proven success as a collaborative team leader
-Self-starter and team player keen on working in cross-cultural working environment
-Very Strong Influential and Communication (verbal and writing) skills
-Results oriented
-Business experience in Demand (Customer Service & Logistics) or Advertising or as Media expert would be an added advantage
