KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the business for compliance with local legislation to ensure sufficient mandatory electrical competence assurance, EIU & CAC certifications as required.
  • In coordination with SMEs, assist to deliver a robust Electrical/Mechanical Technical Learning & Competence Assurance portfolio.
  • Assist to refresh and roll-out the Electrical/Mechanical Technical Learning portfolio and certification Roadmap including digitalization of course contents and certification process.
  • Update and develop new Electrical Technical/Mechanical Learning Interventions to match the Competence Assurance Standards for electrical technicians and engineers.
  • Develop and review course curriculum and training materials, customize a variety of training delivery methods and techniques.
  • Conduct evaluation and drive intervention for electrical competency courses according to own area of specialization.
  • Collaborate with SESCO and SEB Power and academia to deliver an accreditation program to accelerate electrical technician competency and capability development (ie a Technician Academy programme that links a diploma program with competence assurance).
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and SMEs to develop the annual learning plan and budget and provide regular management reports as required.
  • Establish training contracts as required and to ensure the training contracts complied with the company procurement and contract policy and procedures.
  • Drive HSSE & TQM agenda for the Learning Centre (office, classroom, workshops, etc).
  • Drive change management culture within the Learning Centre to nurture winning behaviours in support of our core values towards building Sarawak Energy into a great place to work.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • A seasoned skilled professional, with at least 3 years of expertise and relevant experience in operating and maintaining electrical power system within a large organisations.
  • Possess strong staff development experience, with proven accomplishments in coaching others, developing training programmes, facilitate training, driving technical competency assessments, structured talent development programs, technical learning interventions, etc.
  • Hands-on experience in Distribution Overhead Lines and Underground Cable system would be an added advantage.
SKILLS & LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:
  • Possess competency in operations and maintenance of generation/ distribution/ transmission facilities, facilitation/ presentation skills, competency assurance.
  • Courage and determination to challenge current practices and mindsets, challenging senior leaders and/or more experienced others, while having savvy to maintain effective relationships.
  • Proven accomplishments and capability to effectively collaborate and influence all level of internal /external stakeholders and SMEs to co-select, co-create and co-deliver and follow through on programme delivery.
SPECIAL ASPECTS/MAJOR CHALLENGES OF THE JOB:
  • To collaborate effectively and efficiently with line stakeholders to improve EIU & CAC compliance, and expand on existing Electrical learning interventions.
