Location: Malaysia

The purpose of the role is to provide assistance to the Legal and Compliance department to ensure that the company is in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Major Accountabilities

  • Legal administrative support, e.g. in employment and customer contract law and cooperation with lawyers, tax consultants, as well as authorities, visa applications, intellectual property, and trademark protection.
  • Maintaining records and databases related to compliance-related activities.
  • Assisting with the review and interpretation of laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Providing support for audits, assessments, and other reviews to identify compliance risks and issues
  • Supporting the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and processes to ensure Corporate Compliance, e.g. Code of Conduct, Data Protection, IT Compliance.
  • Conducting research on compliance-related issues and providing summaries of findings to the legal and compliance teams. Internal company QMS (Quality Management System) support, e.g. processing company regulations, guidelines, SOPs, risk management.
  • HR support, e.g. onboarding, training, working hours or absence control.
  • Marketing and sales support, e.g. requests for proposal, offers, customer contracts.
Minimum qualifications and Experience
Education
  • Trained paralegal and/or notary assistant
  • Or Bachelors degree in business law, business or equivalent
  • Or a high school diploma with work experience as paralegal
Language
  • Fluent in English
  • Language skills in German or Italian are a plus
Work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in a legal or compliance support role required
Hard Skills
  • Good knowledge of laws and regulations in APAC, mainly Malaysian law, or Europe: A basic understanding of relevant laws and regulations is necessary to support the organization\'s compliance efforts.
  • 365 Office and Sharepoint knowledge
Soft Skills
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail is necessary to ensure that compliance-related tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Organization skills: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively explain compliance-related information to others within the organization.
  • Analytical skills: The ability to gather and analyze data and identify trends or issues related to compliance.
