The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring the safe execution of all lifting operations at the project site. This role ensures full compliance with regulatory requirements, company procedures, and industry best practices while coordinating closely with crane operators, riggers, signalers, and site management.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and supervise all lifting activities in accordance with approved Lifting Plans and Method Statements.
Ensure lifting operations are carried out safely, efficiently, and within project timelines.
Coordinate daily lifting activities with Site Engineers, Construction Managers, Crane Operators, and Riggers.
Verify ground conditions, crane setup points, load paths, and exclusion zones before lifting.
Ensure all lifting operations comply with DOSH regulations, FMA (Factories and Machinery Act), CIDB requirements, and company QSHE standards.
Conduct pre-lift meetings, toolbox talks, and lifting risk assessments.
Inspect lifting gears, cranes, slings, shackles, spreader bars, and ensure all lifting equipment is certified and valid.
Enforce safe working practices and stop any unsafe lifting operation immediately.
Maintain proper documentation of lifting equipment inspections and lifting permits.
Direct and guide riggers and signalers during lifting operations.
Ensure loads are secured, balanced, and lifted within equipment capacity.
Assist in developing and reviewing Lifting Plans, load charts, and rigging configurations.
Troubleshoot on-site lifting issues and propose corrective measures.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Diploma in Engineering or related field
Valid
Lifting Supervisor Certification
(CIDB, NIOSH, or recognised training provider).
Valid Crane & Rigging safety training certificates (Rigging & Slinging, Signalman, Lifting Operations).
Minimum
3-5 years
of experience in supervising lifting operations in construction or industrial projects.
Core Comptencies:
Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, crane operations, and rigging techniques.
Ability to interpret lifting plans, load charts, and technical drawings.
Excellent hazard identification and risk assessment skills.
Strong leadership and supervisory skills under high-pressure site conditions.
Thorough understanding of Malaysian lifting regulations (DOSH, FMA, CIDB).
Proactive decision-making and problem-solving ability.
Good communication and coordination skills with multi-disciplinary teams.
