Plan, coordinate, and supervise all lifting activities including cranes, forklifts, telehandlers, and other lifting equipment.
Ensure lifting operations follow approved Lifting Plans, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments.
Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox briefings with operators and riggers.
Verify safe working load (SWL), crane capacity, ground conditions, weather conditions, and lifting gear suitability before lifting begins.
Monitor high-risk and critical lifts (e.g., tandem lifts, heavy lifts, lifts near live structures).
B. Safety & Compliance
Ensure all lifting equipment, lifting gears, slings, shackles, hooks, and accessories are certified and within valid inspection dates.
Enforce compliance with DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety & Health) regulations, OSHA requirements, and company HSE policies.
Stop any unsafe lifting activity immediately and take corrective actions.
Ensure all lifting personnel (crane operator, rigger, signalman) hold valid competency certificates.
C. Communication & Coordination
Coordinate with crane operators, riggers, supervisors, and site engineers for material movement and lifting sequence.
Liaise with HSE, QA/QC, and project teams to ensure safe site layout and lifting access routes.
Communicate lifting hazards and preventive measures to all relevant site personnel.
D. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and update lifting checklists, lifting plan verification forms, and daily lifting reports.
Maintain records of lifting equipment certifications, rigging inspection logs, and operator competency documents.
Report near-miss incidents, unsafe conditions, and accidents, and assist in investigation when required.
E. Ad-Hoc Tasks
Carry out any additional tasks assigned by the Site Manager, Project Manager, or HSE Manager.
Support other site activities when lifting work is not ongoing.
