BASF has been operating in Malaysia for more than 30 years, through a number of wholly-owned companies and joint ventures in the country. BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1989, and operates main office in Bandar Utama and a manufacturing plant in Pasir Gudang in Johor, as well as an operational site in Kulim, Kedah. BASF Asia-Pacific Service Centre Sdn Bhd began its operation in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the Shared Services Center provides functional services in the areas of finance, controlling, information services, human resources, environment, health & safety, procurement and import-export order management to BASF Group companies in 19 markets across Asia Pacific. BASF Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, established in 1997, provides infrastructure and utilities support services to BASF sites in Malaysia. BASF holds 60% of its joint venture BASF PETRONAS Chemicals Sdn Bhd, which operates a state-of-the-art Verbund production site in the Gebeng Industrial Zone, Pahang, and 50% of Toray BASF PBT Resin Sdn Bhd. BASF posted sales to customers in Malaysia of approximately \xe2\x82\xac390 million in 2021 and had 2,295 employees as of the end of the year. Further information is available on .

Main Tasks

• Customer Lever:

• Support the usage and implementation of key customer managements tools such as Net Promoter Score and Sales Force in Malaysia with close coordination with Regional Lead of these tools
• Leading the Business Units to unlock values for Local Large Cross Business Unit (BU) potential customers
• Customer analytics, dashboards into top 30-100 customer portfolio analysis
• Leading the Transplants Activities in country (Japan, Korea, ASEAN, South Asia, China)

• Sustainability: Drive local sustainability concepts & knowledge exchange

• Develop and/or update the country sustainability roadmap, action plan and communication matrix
• Support the country platform to deploy BASF sustainability initiatives in the country
• Support management to leverage sustainability in country business development
• Triple S Analysis & local support
• Trainings/ employee engagement as needed
• Member of AS Plastics Roundtable (Plastics Steering Committee)
• Role as advocate for sustainability topics with external stakeholders (government, NGOs, customers)

• Digital Channels:

• Establish the strategic relevance and identify the areas where digitalization can support businesses (sales, supply chain etc.)
• Explore the digital business models for BASF with potential partners
• Lead the country specific digital topics such as Quick lead reporting
• Role as advocate for digitization topics with external stakeholders (government, NGOs, customers)

• Country specific strategic projects such as:

• Steer/ deliver/support on strategic projects for the country, country specific topics such a as organization restructuring, cost efficiencies, cultural change initiatives etc.
• Provide content to Managing Director\'s office on critical regional/country, investor presentations as required
• Define Governance mechanism for Management Committee/ leadership team

• The Country Development lead reports into Country Managing Director. The Country Development lead may or may not have direct reports dependent on the local organization.

Requirements

• At least 5-10 years\' experience in Business Roles, namely in marketing or business development in large organization. Industry knowledge within the Chemical industry and sustainability know-how seen as a clear plus.
• Degree holder - ideally someone with chemical related study.
• Ability to communicate with and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level; ability to drive process from plan to close; excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills; highly motivated, excellent organizational, networking and people skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English
