Manager/ Assistant Manager

As Manager/ Assistant Manager within the team, you will support the development and the implementation of CIMB Group's overall Sustainability Framework and strategy. This includes supporting projects that mitigate CIMB's own direct environmental and social impacts arising from our business activities (e.g.: energy management, diversity and inclusion, human rights) as well as through our clients (e.g. sustainable financing, positive impact products, treating customers fairly). You will also support our sustainability engagement and advocacy initiatives such as our events, training, change management, social media content, website and other channels to engage our key stakeholders.

At all levels, you will work closely with various businesses and countries to ensure successful delivery of the Bank's sustainability projects, initiatives and key milestones. You will be part of the team to create awareness of CIMB's sustainability related initiatives to internal and external stakeholders and develop CIMB's internal sustainability capability through knowledge transfer, raising awareness and capacity building, internally and externally.

Key requirement:

Degree from a recognised University, preferably with an environmental sciences/sustainable development background.

Key Competencies/ Skills

  • (For Manager/ Assistant Manager) Below 6 years of working experience, preferably in Sustainability and/or environmental and social related roles.
  • A passion for sustainability.
  • Effective team work and time management skills to meet project datelines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presentations, deliverables production and meeting conduct.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Appreciation of banking practices, products and latest sustainability practices.
An added advantage if you have:
  • Preferably with an environmental or social degree/ background.
  • Experience in environmental and social impact assessments or due diligence.
  • Technical knowledge in sustainable financing and sustainable related products that are currently in the market.
  • Change Management experience, including good communication, facilitation, and consensus building skills and management.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of the emerging regulatory landscape in ASEAN. Previous experience of having set science-based targets and metrics to help an organisation understand progress against its sustainability ambition.
  • Have experience of practically applying sustainability knowledge in a business context to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Postgraduate work experience focusing on Sustainability preferable for Director position.
  • Banking professionals from coverage, investment banking, corporate/ commercial banking, products development or risk background will have an added advantage.
