Our client is a Premier International & Domestic Logistics and Freight Forwarding Services Provider, offering end-to-end solutions across air, sea, and land transportation. They are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Operations Assistant Manager to oversee customs clearance and operational efficiency within their freight forwarding division.
Key Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end customs clearance operations including import, export, transshipment, and transportation activities.
• Ensure full compliance with Royal Malaysian Customs regulations and all other relevant statutory requirements.
• Liaise effectively with government agencies such as Customs, MITI, SIRIM, MAQIS, MOH, and Port Authorities.
• Manage licensing renewals, maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and monitor customs clearance KPIs.
• Supervise and coordinate with local partners, vendors, and third-party contractors to ensure service quality and timeliness.
• Prepare and propose the annual operational budget and cost-efficiency plans.
• Lead, train, and mentor the operations team to achieve departmental goals and service excellence.
• Provide expert advice to clients and internal departments on customs procedures, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs brokerage or logistics operations, including at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Strong knowledge of Port System, DagangNet, import/export documentation, permits, HS code classification, and customs procedures.
• Proven experience in dealing with regulatory agencies and port authorities.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in both English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written); ability to communicate in Chinese will be an added advantage.
