This job opportunity is for Operations Engineer in the Global Backend Operations Engineering Team, who takes ownership of all aspects related to Power Packaged Products (semiconductor) at our contract manufacturing locations in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia for assembly, burn-in and final test. This role will require partnership with the Fab, NPI, Planning, Quality, Product, Supply Chain, and suppliers in order to be successful.

The right candidate will have accountability and responsibility to achieve highly successful execution towards organizational goals and objectives relative to production throughputs, revenue, capacity, costs and quality at a very high level for Wolfspeed Power Discrete group.

The Day-to-Day

  • Represent Wolfspeed and take ownership of all aspects for day to day operations at our contract manufactures.
  • Maintains regular visits and/or communication with contract manufactures to address and resolve any quality, process or quality issues in "real time", and reports on the status of these areas to operations management on a regular and timely basis.
  • Manage production operation yield improvement, scrap reduction, quality, NPI & hold lot dispositions.
  • Monitor and review operation performance with management driven operation KPI\xe2\x80\x99s metric.
  • Partner with cross functional team in the US and Asia to identify, implement and manage continuous improvement projects for manufacturability, yield, performance, quality and reliability for our power products. Some international and domestic travel may be required.
  • Support operations at the contract Manufacturing locations for assembly, burn-in and final test.
  • Coordinate suppliers to set up and qualify new equipment and sustain existing equipment.
  • Manage and qualify production processes change or optimization.
  • Provide spec. management and quality supports (audit & customer returns).
  • Hold lot dispositions and drive final test yield improvements.
  • Working with FAB and test engineers for wafer processing improvement and probe/final test solution optimization & cost reductions.
  • Participate in design and product to ensure design for manufacturability best practices are followed. Ramp new products released from R&D while monitoring performance and driving improvements.
  • Partner with Planning on short and long-term forecasts to review capacity versus demand and ensure actions are in place to support demand.
  • Drive hardware and software suppliers for delivery and quality improvement.
This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements):
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Process, or Industrial Engineering or Applied Science
  • 10+ years of semiconductor industry experience
  • Proven track record with a background in operations, product engineering, quality and/or product management
  • Extensive experience in supporting and/or manage semiconductor production sites.
  • Experience in Operations Engineering, Back End Manufacturing Engineering , Product Engineering, or equivalent functions in the Semiconductor space
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, collaborative and project management skills with demonstrated ability to identify manufacturing improvements, manage changes and implement solutions. Ability to work with a sense of urgency
  • Strong verbal, written & presentation communications skills
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including internationally as necessary
  • Self-motivated with strong drive to achieve business objectives, capable of working with remote guidance in a globally oriented role
  • Strong analytical skills and experience
Highly Preferred Knowledge and Skills
  • 10+ years experience in Operations Engineering, Back End Manufacturing Engineering , Product Engineering, or equivalent functions in the Semiconductor space
  • Expertise with continuous improvement tools / techniques (5S, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma) and JMP for data review/analytical studies.
  • Expertise with project management and Semiconductor design, test and assembly (Die Attach, Wire Bonding, Molding, Package).
  • Knowledge on semiconductor equipment for assembly, burn-in and test.
  • Extensive experience participating in diverse and multi-disciplinary cross functional teams
