Job brief We\'re seeking a highly experienced People & Culture Coordinator, possessing excellent English communication and interpersonal skills. They will be leading the HR function for our Malaysian market, working locally from our beautiful office based in Kuala Lumpur. This role requires a certified expert with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in handling employee relations cases, performance management, leave entitlement, insurance/payroll reporting, and other employment-related matters. The ideal candidate should already possess a strong understanding of the Employment Act 1955, legal case studies, and other local laws and regulations. In addition to implementing effective strategies to attract, retain, and develop talent, the People & Culture Coordinator will also be responsible for handling confidential information and sensitive data related to employees and company operations. This requires a strong understanding of data privacy regulations and maintaining strict confidentiality and security protocols. Responsibilities
Oversee employee relations cases and insurance/payroll reporting, ensuring strict compliance to EA 1955 and other local laws and regulations
Proactively develop an internal SOP of Malaysian labour laws and regulations, with more basic, external SOP\xe2\x80\x99s for managers to easily reference and follow, this will require a sufficient level of technical literacy
Provide expert guidance to supervisors for performance management procedures
Respond to internal and external HR related inquiries or requests and provide assistance
Redirect HR related questions or distribute correspondence to the appropriate person of the team
Maintain records of personnel-related data (personal information, leaves, turnover rates etc.) in the database and ensure all employment requirements are met
Support the recruitment/hiring process by issuing employment contracts, providing teammate access to hiring tools, etc.
Manage the GuestReady Monthly Newsletter publication
Schedule and maintain the agenda for Director/Manager meetings, intro/exit interviews, HR events, etc.
Perform orientations, onboarding and update records with new hires
Organise team socials and events on a regular basis, strategize & execute affordable ways to improve employee satisfaction and productivity
Assist in any other ad-hoc HR projects as outlined by the Global People Operations Manager, such as collection of employee feedback, building our global training program, etc.
Requirements
Full-time Resident of Malaysia, able to work in Kuala Lumpur
Must be fluent in written and spoken English - any other language is a big plus!
Bachelors (or equivalent) certification in Human Resources
2-3 years of experience in HR, ideally in startups and global companies
Able to prioritise competing priorities, to manage time efficiently and to stay organised at all cost
Team player; able to work in an environment with high inter-dependencies between teams and cross-cultural colleagues
Comfortable to collaborate with senior leadership and c-level team members
Detail-oriented individual with a strong focus on quality
Able to work under pressure, staying calm and composed
Flexible in meeting the needs of the business
