Job Description


Job Summary:
The Food and Beverage Product Development Manager is responsible for leading the creation and implementation of new food and beverage products within the organization. This role involves overseeing the entire product development process, from conceptualization to launch, while ensuring that the products meet market demands, adhere to quality standards, and align with the company\'s strategic goals.

Responsibilities:
1. Product Conceptualization and Ideation:

  • Conduct market research and trend analysis to identify potential new product opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, culinary, and operations, to generate innovative product ideas.
  • Develop product concepts that align with target customers\' preferences and needs.
2. Recipe and Formulation Development:
  • Work closely with chefs, food scientists, and R&D teams to create and refine product recipes and formulations.
  • Ensure that the products meet quality, taste, and nutritional standards.
  • Conduct product testing and gather feedback to make necessary adjustments.
3. Cost Analysis and Pricing:
  • Conduct cost analysis for new product development, including ingredients, packaging, and production.
  • Determine pricing strategies based on production costs, market positioning, and target profit margins.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay updated on food safety regulations and ensure that all new products comply with relevant food industry standards and regulations.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure necessary approvals and certifications.
5. Production and Scale-Up:
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to facilitate the smooth transition of new products from development to manufacturing.
  • Oversee pilot runs and full-scale production to ensure product consistency and quality.
6. Market Testing and Launch:
  • Develop and implement market testing strategies to assess consumer feedback and acceptance of new products.
  • Plan and execute product launches, including marketing and promotional strategies.
7. Product Lifecycle Management:
  • Monitor the performance of existing products and propose improvements or modifications to enhance their success.
  • Identify product discontinuation or replacement opportunities based on market trends and sales data.
8. Supplier and Vendor Management:
  • Source and collaborate with suppliers and vendors to procure high-quality ingredients and packaging materials.
  • Negotiate contracts and ensure reliable supply chains for new product ingredients.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in Food Science, Culinary Arts, Product Development, or a related field.
  • Proven 5 to 8 years experience in product development within the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, consumer preferences, and food industry regulations.
  • Excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation in developing new products.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality control standards
