Product Reliability Intern

What a College Intern \xe2\x80\x93 Product Reliability Engineer does at HP, Penang:

• Participates as a member of project team to develop and execute reliable, cost effective and high-quality manufacturing solutions for low to moderately- complex products from new-product introduction through end of lifecycle.
• Consider engineering specifications, performance, lifetime, failure modes, root cause analysis, statistical analysis, reliability predictions, 6 sigma techniques, measurement system capability, etc.
• Consider establishing time standards, production area layouts, and requirements for manufacturing tooling and processes for subsystems and portions of new products; develops cost estimates, capacity models, and recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced manufacturing and development partners regarding process and standards compliance, manufacturing issues, and recommendations for problem resolution for manufacture of existing products.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:

• University undergraduate in manufacturing-related engineering discipline or equivalent.
• Able to commit for 6 Months.
• Planning on graduating in 2025. Should be in their final year of graduating.
• Fair understanding to engineering tools and software packages to design and automate manufacturing processes, e.g., JMP, Lean Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, FMEA, Power BI.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of material properties and hardware and electrical component design.
• Familiarity with empirical analysis, modeling, and methodologies to validate manufacturing process and tooling design and specifications.
• Must be able to read and interpret data, information and documents.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
