Manage the full procurement cycle including local and international sourcing, container booking, logistics coordination, statutory documentation and liasing with authority.
Monitor inventory levels, evaluate reorder points, and work with stores and production teams to prevent stock shortages or overstocking.
Coordinate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to fulfil urgent or recurring technical procurement needs.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with company objectives on cost, quality, and delivery.
Conduct supplier evaluations and audits based on SSAQ, ABAC policies, Supplier Code of Conduct, Responsible Sourcing standards, and ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative) compliance.
Monitor and analyze market trends, currency fluctuations, logistics costs, and raw material pricing to make informed sourcing decisions.
Set departmental KPIs and monitor individual team performance through regular reviews and coaching.
Provide training and mentoring to develop team skills in sourcing, negotiation, compliance, and system usage.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, DOE, DOSH, Customs, and SST regulations.
Oversee duty exemption applications, import licensing, calibration documentation, and compliance with approved vendor and material list procedures.
Support both internal and external audits by ensuring documentation accuracy and procurement system integrity.
Collaborate with production, finance, stores, quality, and maintenance departments to align procurement activities with operational and financial planning.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; or Diploma in Business Administration
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant working experience as Head of Purchasing/Procurement Department, including at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Strong networking skills and familiarity with various sourcing techniques.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Good knowledge of sourcing strategies, import/export regulations,INCOTERM,SST, and ERP systems.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
