Position: RAN Engineer Full Time/Part Time: Full Time Contract Type: Fixed term contract - 12 months minimum (renewable) Salary: Up to RM RM 3,800 Only Malaysian What is a RAN Engineer? A RAN engineer focuses on providing technical support for Radio Access Networks. The role is considered a specialized telecom professional position and tasks often include troubleshooting end-to-end cellular technology and solving radio network-related issues. A RAN engineer focuses on technologies such as 5G and 4G networking. The engineers offer support for LTE and small cell projects, and they understand protocols like VoLTE and ViLTE. A RAN engineer typically works with GSM, WCDMA, and LTE architectures. Responsibilities: Main workplace duties include providing support and guidance on networks and maintaining network elements by providing remote assistance. A RAN engineer may also provide software and hardware support for customer lab and markets. RAN engineers may also perform network analysis to troubleshoot issues and coordinate communications between the customer, operations team and field support systems. Creating and executing test cases and organizing field trials of a network are also important responsibilities. Qualifications & Skills: RAN Engineers typically possess a degree in computer science, IT and networking. This includes fields such as wireless technology and networking certifications. Protocol knowledge of 5G-NR, LTE, VoLTe, UMTS, and GSM interfaces is also recommended. RAN engineers are expected to have interpersonal and analytical skills. They must also possess a collaborative mindset so they can integrate into larger teams. THE MISSION: \xe2\x97\x8f Perform proactive maintenance activities to prevent incidents and constantly optimize the network. Take corrective measures based on performance management and indicators trend analysis \xe2\x97\x8f Assure planned work activities, network rollout, software upgrades and parameter changes in radio access network (RAN) ensuring quality of service and avoiding regression on network functionalities \xe2\x97\x8f Perform acceptance test and integration/configuration activities of new network elements of the RAN \xe2\x97\x8f Perform proactive maintenance activities to prevent incidents and constantly optimize the network \xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge sharing in order to increase technical skills of other teams involved in deployment and operations activities in the network \xe2\x97\x8f Technical support for RAN network equipment - cover GSM, UMTS, LTE and Next generation 5G Radio Access Network equipment \xe2\x97\x8f Technical support for projects - project preparation, pre-sales technical support, solution development, solution testing with customers, project delivery with a delivery team REQUIREMENTS: \xe2\x97\x8f Basic knowledge of mobile communication principles (GSM, UMTS , LTE network structure, function of RAN elements like eNB/NB/BTS/RNC/BSC); \xe2\x97\x8f Basic knowledge of core parts functions like SGSN, GGSN, MME is an advantage; \xe2\x97\x8f Knowledge of IP principles (Routers, Switches, Firewalls), Unix scripting (Bash, Python etc.), virtualization SWs is an advantage; \xe2\x97\x8f Teamwork oriented; \xe2\x97\x8f 1-2 years of experience in Network Operations and Maintenance activities; \xe2\x97\x8f English and Bahasa Malaysia (spoken and written).
