Learn more about working with Monash and what is Ancora Imparo. The Opportunity This position is responsible for the project \'Heat Care at SEACO\' funded by the Wellcome Trust. The purpose of this study is to implement and evaluate behavioural and structural (cool roof) heat adaptation interventions to help manage the health effects of heat. To accomplish this goal, the study will employ design research, and causal impact research, as well as elucidating pathways of effectiveness and cost-effectiveness. Key Responsibilities The main role of the Research Fellow is to support the research and development of the project. This also includes: Conduct literature search and preparation of manuscripts and reports. To prepare research ethic applications, journal, and conference papers. To provide significant assistance in designing, implementing & measuring the effectiveness of the interventions in reducing heat effects on health To provide significant assistance in evaluating the cost-effectiveness of interventions developed Utilizing mixed methods research to elucidate effectiveness and measure the social value of both interventions with regards to heat effects on health Comply with University policy, procedure, and protocols in relation to the nature of the research being conducted. Other duties as required within the scope of the classification of this position. Key Selection Criteria Education/Qualifications A doctoral qualification (PhD), in Public Health, Social Sciences, Behavioural Studies Knowledge And Skills Demonstrated ability to produce excellent research Demonstrated ability to work with partners in universities, government, community and/or civil society Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and teamwork Experience with qualitative research and implementation science research will be an asset Excellent writing and communication skills in English and able to speak one of the local languages in Malaysia (Malay, Mandarin, or Tamil).
