About the Landscape programme

Protecting fragile ecosystems means finding a way to create value for people without sacrificing nature. This is too complex a challenge for any one company, commodity supply chain, NGO, or government to handle alone. To secure a future for natural resources and the people who rely on them, collective action and collaboration are critical \xe2\x80\x93 we must go beyond the bounds of individual supply chains. This is why we work in high-value landscapes across the globe to support local and international stakeholders in constructing pathways for regenerating lives and nature, building supply chain and farmer resilience, and achieving the goals of responsible sourcing. In this role you will be providing strategic guidance and overseeing the implementation of Sabah landscape programme to reach its vision and objectives. In addition, you will be leading the development of smallholder programme and overseeing the implementation of smallholder projects in Sabah.

Your mission

Being the Sabah Landscape Manager, you will be focusing on ensuring the development and delivery of specific programs. This includes supporting the team in:
  • Developing, monitoring, and managing landscape work plans, to achieve deliverable with TOC, budget and timeline.
  • Leading and managing landscape field & technical teams.
  • Develop and manage, accurate and up to date database of capturing comprehensive details of output/ outcome/ impact/ project data / stakeholders.
  • Responsible for the delivery of quarterly, annual, and other form of reports requested by funders, Partners (i.e., partner mills/ local stakeholders) and internal management.
  • Lead strategic development and vision of the landscape in terms of synergising core skills and strength environment, social and community towards a holistic landscape strategy.
  • Strategic advice and support to new business development opportunities and building relationship with strategic stakeholders to scale up landscape programme.
  • In charge for development and management of Field & Smallholder ladscape team workplans.

Your profile

A passionate individual with knowledge in agriculture, social science, rural development, forestry and conservation whom loves working in areas of development for rural agricultural communities, to drive transformation across connected supply chains. Preferably Master\xe2\x80\x99s / Bachelor degree or other equivalent higher level training in in agricultural, social science, rural development, forestry, natural resource management, environmental sciences, conservation, social sciences, business or other related field. You are passionate and have good working experience on issues related to sustainability, community development and supply chains. Fund raising, proposal writing and business development would be essential for you to be successful in this role. Past exposure from an NGO, government agencies in Malaysia related to conservation, human rights, workers welfare, sustainability and social development could be a great advantage. A minimum 5-years\xe2\x80\x99 experience relevant or with non-profit experience, along with advance field experience related to local communities, forestry, agribusiness along with a good entrepreneur spirit. Good written and communication. Along with exception people management and leaderships. Has the ability to be flexible, proactive. Proficient user in Microsoft Office. Working Conditions:

  • Fluent in English & Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken)
  • Full-time, 2 years contract;
  • Start date: as soon as possible
  • Location: Sabah (preferred) or Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
  • Malaysian citizenship required
