Goodyear\'s Asia Pacific (AP) region is a $multi-bn business with 10,000 employees. We operate 9 manufacturing plants in China (3), India (2), Indonesia (1), Japan (1), Malaysia (1), and Thailand (1) as well as testing and R&D facilities. The region is a high-growth opportunity for Goodyear; we are committed to supporting the rapid adoption of advanced mobility solutions for customers in Asia Pacific. The rate of adoption and investment in electric vehicles and autonomous technologies presents significant opportunity, likely to outstrip what we are seeing in Western markets.
Our objective is to continue to bring the full suite of Goodyear\'s offerings to the region; to be a market leader in terms of future mobility solutions and continue to drive enhanced operational excellence in line with the group\'s . The Asia Pacific region has clear 2026 targets related to revenue growth, market position and EBIT performance.
Our APAC region is split into several product-based business units, including a Consumer BU (B2C/B2B2C), Commercial BU (B2B) and a OTR (Off-The-Road) & Aviation business. We sell through a combination of distributor, retail, online and concession-based channels. Asia Pacific is segmented into geographic \'clusters\' including China, Japan, India, Australasia and ASEAN markets (Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia & Philippines).
THE OPPORTUNITY - SALES DIRECTOR, MALAYSIA
Goodyear is looking to appoint a highly motivated, growth-focused and commercial leader as Sales Director for Goodyear in Malaysia. As the Sales Director, this person will be a critical part of the Malaysia leadership group team, working collaboratively to develop sales strategies, introduce new products, develop our people and achieve growth and gross margin targets.
Goodyear has a rich history in Malaysia spanning more than 50 years. We opened a factory in 1972 and have been selling high-quality tire products ever since. Malaysia is the largest market in our ASEAN cluster and considered a Centre of Excellent (CoE) where we often pilot new ideas and products. We go-to-market through a diversified channel of direct retail, distributor and eCommerce platforms giving us a broad and deep reach across the country and direct connectivity to our consumers.
The Sales Director will be a leader in our Malaysia organization, responsible developing, aligning and executing on our strategy and creating a collaborative and high-performance environment for our people.
The role is based out of our office in Shah Alam and reports to the Managing Director, Malaysia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Sales Director for Malaysia, you are accountable for the development of a robust sales strategy and the delivery of sales volume and gross margin performance. To drive results, this person must build strong teams and nurture close relationships with customers to understand what is needed to win and meet our objectives.
