Overview:-

As a Senior Data Engineer at Fave Malaysia, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining our data platform infrastructure. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of our data systems. In addition to your expertise in data engineering, you will bring extensive experience in Agile & Kanban methodologies to lead the team in delivering high-quality data solutions in a fast-paced working environment.

Responsibilities:-

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of the data platform infrastructure, ensuring efficient data ingestion, processing, storage, and retrieval.
• Collaborate with data science, analytics, and product teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable and performant data solutions.
• Implement and optimize data pipelines and workflows using technologies such as PySpark, Apache Spark, Python or other data analytics and processing frameworks.
• Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data platform.
• Perform advanced data modeling and database design to support complex analytics and reporting needs.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data processing and performance, leveraging your extensive experience and knowledge.
• Embrace a modernized mindset to drive innovation and explore new technologies and best practices in data engineering.
• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Work in an Agile environment, leading the team in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Thrive in a fast-paced working style, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work in a timely manner.
• Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in the data engineering field.

• Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the data platform field, with a focus on data engineering.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, PySpark, SQL, or Java.
• Proficiency in PySpark for data processing and analytics.
• Extensive experience with data warehouse technologies such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, or DataBricks.
• In-depth knowledge of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration techniques.
• Strong understanding of database systems and query optimization.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms like AWS or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven experience in Scrum & Kanban methodologies, leading teams and delivering high-quality data solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to think with a modernized mindset, embracing innovation and new technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
