KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Undertake BPG coal power plant mechanical equipment (1044t/h of Circulating Fluidized-bed Boiler (CFB), N311-16.7/538/538 type of steam turbine, balance system of plant such as water treatment, coal handling, limestone & ash handling, hydrogen plant, fuel oil system, auxiliary boiler, etc.) maintenance and its associated equipment.
  • Abide strictly to Factories and Machinery Act with Regulations (FMA). Ensure staff safety and performed tools box talk daily before work started and summarised the daily work safety at the end of the day.
  • Perform plan and execute routine mechanical equipment maintenance tasks such as routine shutdown maintenance and minor/major overhaul of CFB refractory, double cylinder turbine, hydrogen-cooled generator and its associated equipment.
  • Provide unplanned and execute maintenance/repair service (investigate, troubleshoot and rectification) on mechanical equipment.
  • Perform and support implementation of mechanical system improvement/upgrading/ retrofitting and digital power plant projects by providing the following assistance:
a. Getting involved in various stages of the projects including understanding of user requirements, selection of best-suited technical solutions, preparation of scope of work / technical specifications and procurement process.

b. Coordinating, supervising and monitoring contractors\' work to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

c. Ensuring project progress is according to schedule.
  • To consolidate and verify schedule for maintenance program and organize the work effectively within scheduled program for superior endorsement.
  • Review and recommend reports, records and estimates of maintenance activities.
  • Coordinates and manages all resources within the section in delivering maximum output. Carries out work vs time study and observation to maximize human resource utilization.
  • Ensure maintenance expenses and subordinates\' overtime are properly monitored and within reasonable control.
  • To provide guidance to subordinates on the assigned task/maintenance program.
  • Recommend on the training needs of subordinates.
  • Assist superior to forecasts maintenance activities and prepare annual budget for approval.
  • Perform mechanical equipment/system continuous improvement.
  • Assist in developing strategies for periodical mechanical equipment maintenance.
  • Assist in implementing and standardizing R&M programs, practices and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain CMMS workflow and records.
  • Assist in establish and review procedures & guidelines, standards and ensure audit compliance.
  • Inculcates sense of responsibility and work commitment.
  • Inculcate and enforce safe working practice and culture.
  • Inculcate and enforce good housekeeping (5S) practices and culture.
  • To execute instruction given by the superior accordingly.
QUALIFICATION:
  • Possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering and registered with BEM preferably in Mechanical discipline or equivalent, and more than 5 years of practical maintenance experience in power station or other related industries.
or
  • Possess a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with more than 10 years of practical maintenance experience in power station or other related industries.
  • Acquired Steam Engineer competency.
SKILLS:
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and principles including delegation of work, training of subordinates, performance evaluation, discipline and hiring.
  • Knowledge of mechanical drawings, OEM drawings, principles, methods, manufacturer\'s manuals, and standard procedures in the maintenance and repair of power station equipment.
  • Knowledge of plant safety and accident prevention measures required for maintaining and repairing all power plant equipment.
  • Knowledge of BPG coal power plant operation and its auxiliary equipment.
  • Ability to analyze difficult and unusual technical issues or repair problems.
  • Ability to maintain, interpret and analyze operational records and data.
  • Knowledge of computer skill and reports writing.
  • Knowledge on Grid Code, and Statutory requirements.
  • Familiar with SAP PM module.
  • Competency requirement as Working at Height (WAH), Confined Space - Authorized Entrant and Standby (AESP) and at least Scaffolder Level 1.

  • Able and willing to travel frequently for extended duration to carry out turn around maintenance tasks at power stations.
  • Good knowledge on ISO Quality Management system, Computer Maintenance Management System {SAP), Generation Asset management Policy, and Contractor Management System.
  • Business acumen on SEB Power, and SEB Group.
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Security Quality Manual (ISQM) and the ISMS roles and responsibilities procedure.
  • To perform all tasks in line with the Information Governance Policy Suite and Guidelines.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
